weareaddictedtothelword asked: you do realize that you just agreed with me, right? It make member of the trans* community inhuman by removing their right to identify. You just keep making statements without backing them up and it is simply not a productive conversation
Actually, it brings up all the murders, rapes, sexual assaults, dismissals, erasures, and other miscellaneous forms of violence systematically enacted against us while saying that word, and that is what makes it oppressive. Not because it removes their right to identify.
And you’re doing the exact same thing, in that neither of us are linking to anything. But I’m a trans woman, unlike you, so it would appear. Which means that I’m the expert in this situation and have more credibility than you.
weareaddictedtothelword asked: But, you're being silly. How does it oppress people? By taking away their right to identify. Things don't just oppress people, they have to use something to oppress.
No, it oppresses people by making us inhuman and inovking abuses and oppressive actions of the past
blindhusksdream asked: And when anons identify you get one hundred anons that are supposedly x marginalized group saying stuff supporting y privileged group's bullshit. Per one or two real members of said marginalized group who would actually do that. And it's terrible.
Yep. If you want to actually use it in an argument, you have to put your name behind it.
weareaddictedtothelword asked: Just wanted to point out that your argument(s) are fundamentally flawed. I would very much like to see you justify your continual extreme and counter productive statement. Indeed, I would like to accuse you of playing into the exact same mentality you despise. You actually said once "Anons don't get to identify" but the entire problem with the use of the "T slur" is that it robs people of their right to identify. Again, please use some logic or philosophy to justify your pretty outrageous claims
Actually, the problem with the t slur is that it is a slur which has been used to oppress camab trans people for decades

Link goes to the song in the musical episode, mostly because it’s a clip I knew I could find, but I don’t think there is a single episode where this doesn’t happen.
Anonymous asked: RE: the lady gaga thing; i mean, I personally hate being call a girl, and I want people to know that I am not (I'm mtf) so what's wrong with wanting the world to stop thinking you are a gender that you are not. It's got nothing to do with her being offended to be called transgender.
Except every single one of her statements that would fit your ask imply that being trans means that you aren’t a woman, regardless of your gender. No one is saying she’s nonbinary, people were just saying she was trans. And responding to that with “I really am a lady” or “my vagina is offended” is transmisogynistic. The former says that being trans means you aren’t a lady. The latter is saying it’s offensive to be called trans, meaning trans is a lesser status, and the vagina bit is cissexist
Anonymous asked: "Neil Jordan Thinks That the Logical Response to Finding Out That the Woman You're About to Have Sex With is Trans is Vomiting in His Movie "The Crying Game"" ... do you think a *Catholic man* in the 70s-80s is going to have a favourable response? Writing a *fictional* account of someone responding that way is not the same as condoning it. By the way, the two characters still end up romantically involved.
Just because transmsigoyny is normal doesn’t mean it isn’t transmisogyny
Also the racism of international sex tourism, but I think that might be the premise of the entire movie. Not certain. Haven’t watched the whole thing. Don’t plan to
the Guards say “Told you she didn’t have a dick”, and there are an awful lot of crotch shots while she’s in tight thongs or tight police tape, posed in a way to prove she doesn’t have a penis. It’s kind of weird once you see it and look for it
